Products and collections
Prepare the catalog your customers will shop.
Theme version: 1.0.0Products and media
In Shopify’s Products area, add each product’s title, description, price, media, options, inventory, and category. Make sure products are published to the Online Store channel.
Use clear product images, add useful alternative text, and check the image order and crop in both product cards and the product page.
Variants
Configure options and variants on the Shopify product, rather than typing variant information into section text fields. Set each variant’s price, stock, and associated media. Test available and unavailable variants.
Velmora’s Featured Product section updates price, sale state, unit price, availability, payment terms, and associated media when a customer selects a variant. Confirm this behavior with your own products.
Sale prices and sold-out states
To show a sale, set a compare-at price higher than the selling price on the relevant product or variant in Shopify. Check that the expected prices and sale state appear on the storefront.
To test a sold-out state, use an inventory-tracked variant with no stock and disable selling when out of stock. Check that the unavailable option cannot be purchased.
Collections
Create manual or automated collections in Products → Collections. Add a title, useful description, and collection image. Ensure the products meet any automated conditions, and publish the collection to the Online Store.
Connect collections to navigation and homepage sections. Check sorting, pagination, empty collections, and product-card quick add using your actual catalog.
Collection and search filters
Use Shopify’s Search & Discovery app to configure storefront filters, then review the collection and search template settings in the Theme Editor. Filter availability depends on your catalog data and Shopify’s filter support.
Test single and combined filters, clear-all behavior, sorting, empty results, and mobile controls. If a filter is missing, check its configuration and the matching product data first.
Apps and additional product features
If you use size charts, pickup availability, subscriptions, or app blocks, test them with the actual products and apps before publishing. The app provider controls its app’s behavior, performance, and accessibility.
